“What if I fall? Oh but my darling, what if you fly?” ~Erin Hanson

This is by far my most favorite quote! As someone that second guesses herself always, no other quote holds more meaning. I can’t help but wonder how often we hold ourselves back for fear of falling. How far could we fly, if we actually tried?

She’s cute, y’all, but trust me, she’s so much more.

One of my ultimate goals with the little nest is to sprinkle in some inspirational wear from time to time. I think about the messages I’d want to pass on to my own children, the messages I wish had been given to me as a child.  I believe it’s natural to doubt ourselves from time to time.  It would be nice to have a healthy voice inside or outside of our head that says “you can do it! TRY!”

I fell!

So I set out to put my favorite quote on a bib.  And guess what?!?!? I did not FLY! Not only did I not fly, I totally fell! I tried it several ways and it missed the mark each time.  Ya kinda have to laugh at that a little, right?!?! Ultimately, I think I will try this again, but on a navy bodysuit (quick side note, do you know that the term “onesie” is trademarked by Gerber? that’s why I have to say “bodysuit.” I don’t use Gerber onesies) with light pink vinyl. I’ll post a photo on my Instagram in 2018 of that.

So that leads me to another of my favorite quotes: “I have not failed. I’ve just found 10,000 ways that won’t work.” ~Thomas Edison. He was referencing the invention of the light bulb! Who knows how many “failed” attempts he had before he hit that Eureka moment! And now look at his invention-we use it every single day!

I’m flying into 2018

I don’t really buy into the new year’s resolutions stuff, but I am a big advocate for personal growth.  Earlier this year I had a relationship end; I won’t go into the personal details of it .  But the woman was very much a mother figure in my life. She was that compassionate, loving, sounding board. When I came to her with fears and doubts, her answer was truly “what if you fly?” Losing that has been devastating.  But where there is pain there is a growth opportunity. So for 2018, I want to attempt to be own gentle, kind, loving voice…..“what if you fly?” 2018 is not going to be ready for what I’m about to bring it!

Even “failures” have highlights

While the bibs did not turn out the way I had hoped, I got back some wonderful and beautiful photos! There are two ladies that take pictures of my product in use and send them back to me.  They both did a fabulous job and made the bibs look so much nicer than they really are! Thank you, ladies!

“Til next time,

~jen
