Support the troops; Thank a soldier!

Speaking from experience, it was always exciting to get a letter or package in boot camp. I was very lucky that I had a lot of friends that supported me. So I got mail on a regular basis. Some soldiers weren’t so lucky.

I was never deployed overseas; I don’t know what it’s like to be separated from family and friends in a foreign land. But I imagine getting mail and letters of encouragement is incredibly meaningful. My brother in law was deployed. I regret very much not sending him care packages.

While I can’t go back in time to change that, I can reach out to a current service member. This year I’m gonna send Thanksgiving and Holiday cards through an organization that gets them to troops deployed overseas. If you feel led to do so, I encourage you to do the same!  There are a lot of different organizations out there. I’m going to go through this one: A Million Thanks.

’til next time,
