Reciprocitee offers a line of hand crafted, small batch bath and body products.
I first met Tee, creator/owner of Reciprocitee, at the beehive in 2014. I remember asking her early on what her big picture plans were with her business. She spoke of being able to perform Reiki and Ayurveda while also having an opportunity to promote and sell her self-care products. I had no clue what Reiki and Ayurveda are, actually, in all honesty, I still don’t. But I loved how enthusiastic she was about her vision and her business’ future! In the time that I have known Tee, she has received further education and certifications to follow through with her vision. I enjoy seeing her product line grow and am totally jealous of her photo taking skills. It’s been a joy to watch her pour so much positive energy into growing her dream!
One of the things I am really enjoying about the #WCW segments of my blogs is getting to learn more about the different women that I am already (business) crushing on!
Hey there, Tee! Why don’t you introduce yourself to everyone!
Hi! My name is Teesha Borum (aka Tee). My intention is to encourage mind, body, spirit wellness through self care. Certified in Ayurveda, as well as Reiki- Reciprocitee has become a bit of an amalgamation of the things I love.
The name Reciprocitee is inspired by the word reciprocity. However, I changed the spelling from “ty” to “tee” to incorporate my name because I make all products with love, in hopes of building a reciprocal relationship with my customers.
I hope that while encouraging mind, body, spirit wellness, it inspires others to be their best self so that together we can make the world a better place.
I’ll be asking all my #WCW’s these same three questions. I am 100% on board with her answer to question #1 and totally learned something new about Tee on question 2!
What is your guilty pleasure?
Bread. This includes toast, cornbread, cake, donuts, biscuits, etc. My lower half blows up like nobody’s business but, it’s usually worth it.
What motivated you to start your business?
Speaking in a broader sense- deciding to wear my hair in it’s natural state (free of chemical straighteners) has played a major role in starting my business. However, in a more direct sense, I was working with some not so honest people, and was wrongfully fired from my job at the time. This resulted in me having a lot more free time than usual.
As a result, I entered a natural hair competition (in which I won) and was sent a gift basket filled with natural handmade products. I recognized all of the simple ingredients, which I thought was awesome. I then started experimenting by making my own lip balm and body butter as a hobby. Shortly after, I decided to start my own business, and learned that there are always blessings found in setbacks!
If you could visit any place (real or make believe), where would it be and why?
Well, I’ve always wanted to be a Mermaid. I literally watched The Little Mermaid everyday in the 5th grade. She wanted to live on land and I wanted to live under the sea. I just feel 100% in my element when I’m near the ocean.
